This web site would not be complete without a tribute page to our longtime friend, CHINOOK'S JOURNEY. At age 31, 'Chinook' had been a part of our family for over 20 years. While his advancing age had impaired his eyesight, decreased the number of his teeth, and required special dieting, Chinook still had a zest for life and loved frolicking in the pasture and teaching our new foals good manners. Special friends like 'Chinook' are hard to come by, his generosity and affection actually helped us through the "tough times" that we all must face. The day this special horse went to the "big pasture in the sky" was truly a sad time for us all!

The snow picture above is (from left to right) The Silver Ghost, Chinook's Journey and Sandcastles Sweetest Tabu.  The Silver Ghost was just a two year old stud colt and it was 'Chinook' who would teach him most of all his gentlemen ways!

Even as a stallion, "Chinook" had a temperament that was second to none!  Pictured on the right is my youngest sister (Caroline, at age 10) on "Chinook".

On the left is "Chinook" pictured at 11 yrs. old in my back yard. I would have been just twelve! I started riding him long before this but, this was the first winter 'chinook' came to my house to live. It was on October 31 1979 when I rode my friend home to live with me and my family. If I had but one complaint, it was that I was not allowed to ride him in shows as in my area, you had to be 19 years old to legally ride a stallion any where be it a show or not! We would ride to the shows bareback and watch in fantasy, holding onto hope until someone complained and back home again we'd go.....

On the left, we are pictured in 1984 standing in Alouette River at Allco Park, Maple Ridge BC. One of our most favorite things was swimming in the local rivers and swimming holes. Just behind us in the picture, was a deep spot in the river that was over our heads and perfect for cooling off on a hot day

This picture on the right, is Chinook (of course) and one of his get. In fact, this would be his last foal and son! His name is Jacob's Journey. "Jacob" is owned by a family who just adores him! We always hear about his wonderful temperament, excellent feet and athletic body.

I had also the honor of owning Chinook's Grandson.. A direct son fo Jacob's Journey pictured on the right. We called him 'Gus' and he is still, to this day, owned by a family in Maple Ridge.
